I write what comes first to mind, which can vary from making sense and being carefully written. I like to think of my blog as a notebook for random thoughts and rambles, which you're welcome to look at. Please leave a comment because they make my day :) enjoy

Is it nearly the end of the holidays?
My holidays started when Ramzan began, and since now it is nearly over, I think my holidays are coming to an end too. I have a 6-week holiday, so if a month is gone then that means I have only 2 weeks left! Eek! Ah well, I don't really mind. It's basically been rotting at home with your notifications, mentions, and mail boxes empty while you spend all day watching movies or on the internet (what else is there to do?!). I did read books, but my book collection is pretty bare. Anyway, in these last 2 weeks left, I shall be studying! Yes, me and studying. I know i just had some GCSE's but I need to remember stuff for year 11 too, so I hope that will make better use of my time!
That is all.

Good morning
Good morning. I am up at last. I know I usually don't do morning posts but i'm bored right now, and both my mentions and my notifications are empty. It's a thursday today (i had to check my laptop calender for that :P) and if today was a school day, I would be in school right now. But it's not a school day today and I have absolutely no idea what I should do today. I would usually watch a movie at 1:00 but yesterday me and my brother searched in vain for a good movie and couldn't find any. After watching a movie I would usually look for some bizarre new felt project but I have run out of ideas! I like making cases for small stuff, like ipods but between me and my brother there are only two ipods that are small enough for me to make cases for them, and I have already made cases for them. I would try to draw something but i've noticed this week that when i'm busy, i'm more creative and when I have nothing to do, I am not so creative. There's always the choice of cooking but I made a cake yesterday for a trifle and it hasn't finished so there really is no need.
Lets hope I find something new to make out of felt.

The things produced when my time is occupied for once
This summer i've spent a lot of time making things out of felt. Generally I start my morning lazing around on the couch but later when I go on the internet I find these little things made out of felt that really inspire me. I don't tend to use a tutorial, I just kinda look at the picture and imagine how it's made and once I start making I can edit the designs a little. So here are some things I have made during the time when i'm not bored.
I made the bag because I'd made this pouch ages ago and it was pretty badly done so I undid all the stitches and made that bag instead. I use it to put all the little pieces of felt and random things in. The flowers go in the bag too. As you can see, I only had one colour of felt then.
After that first little tester with the felt bag, I managed to persuade my dad to take me to buy more felt. I got white, cream, red and green felt sheets (A4 size) and so I made these little mario mushrooms after getting inspired by playing mario kart 7 on my brother's 3ds. These mushrooms are one of mario world's many characters, and since my brothers are so obsessed with mario, I gave these to them. The red one's for the smallest and the green one's for the older one.
Next I made these bookmarks, each taking a day to make. I like using the red heart one better but I think the cat and the fish one is cute (i'm a cat obsessed girl).
After running out of small felt ideas, I saw that my ipod shuffle was sitting in random pouches I bought from Pakistan last summer, with my ear phones all squished and looking ready-to-break. I searched on google images for ipod shuffle felt cases and found something similar to the first image, except that picture was neater and taken with a better camera. I edited the design a little because the picture I used was for a longer ipod shuffle and mine is just a first generation one, so I had to make mine less-wide. I also attached a strap on the back and made something like a button so i can easily wrap my earphones around and not tangle them or have them un-wrapped. I have also made a little hole for earphones and the buttons on top.
And finally I made this yesterday. It's a case for an ipod shuffle 6th generation, mario style. It's green with white dots so it can be like the green mario mushroom, and has a cream face which acts like a button for wrapping the earphones around like the ipod shuffle case above. I made it for my brother because he doesn't really have a case and i'm paranoid he's going to gt scratches on it and the earphones will break. Just like the ipod shuffle case, this one also has a hole for the headphones and it also has a hole at the bottom for it to charge.
Anyway, that's all for now.

I think it's the middle of summer.
There
we go; just updated some changes to this blog. I realised I’ve become a
daydreamer who locks up all her emotions inside and builds a wall around her
heart so no one can touch it. I also realised I understand more than most
people think I do, like when I went to France I understood more conversational French
than I thought I could, and even more than my French exchange thought I could
(she thought I couldn't speak any French at all). And it's not only French;
it's also complicated vocabulary and complicated story lines, for example I'm a
massive Dan Brown fan (though not many people know it) and I spend a lot of
time in my room reading his books. Last summer I read his book angels and
demons which contains so much physics but I understood it all. This summer I’m
re-reading the da Vinci code (my all time favourite). I did think of doing
something more creative this summer, but my day’s routine only varies slightly.
The highlight of my day is usually watching a movie and making some new felt
thing or checking twitter, but it doesn’t really get more exciting than that. The
thing I look forward to most is getting long emails from my cousin, which gives
me new ideas and inspires me. I know I know, you're probably thinking what a
book-worm I must be, but I assure you the case is quite different. though I may
spend my time in Dan Brown books, I can assure you the rest of my time I spend
either testing my nail polish, playing with makeup or turning my room upside
down in search of things I never knew I had. And as for friends? Well you'd be
surprised at how many people stay in this country ;)
Thats all for now

The beginning of Summer 2012
Finally summer has started! It's officially been a year since I last saw my cousins and I miss them! From day 1 of the summer break here, Ramzan started, which means I have to cancel my plans to go play squash for my duke of Edinburgh award and spend the day at home. As fun as that might sound, there really isn't much to do at home! I mean yesterday I fasted and i'm fasting today as well and I thought there would be loads to do but I just ended up in bed, checking my facebook and twitter every 5 minutes! I also read books but mostly I lay around in bed, my brain had me resorting to humming an out-of-tune version of Lights by Ellie Golding and making random cat noises.
So I thought that I should, over the summer, do something productive. The first thing that came to mind was my scrapbook about my french exchange (I still need to fill in about meeting her family), but after looking at my clearly messy table, I gave up. I know I really need to finish it before I go into year 11, but for some reason I really can't be bothered! I had a look at pintrest and found some really good things, so i'll see if I can be bothered to make them.
Anyway, I had better go do something now, so enjoy your holidays everyone!

Coming to the end of school?
It's nearly summer! My initial reaction was "yay i can spend all day on twitter", but after staying up all night and not being able to sleep, my mind wandered into that area and a sudden realisation hit me: i'm going to year 11 next year. it's really big, it's not like in primary school where you were going to secondary school after. It's like you know when you were a kid and you used to think "wish i could come to the end of school" ? Yeah well when that happens, it's pretty scary. I mean next year's my proper GCSE year... i know i gave some GCSE's this year but next year they'll be the final-final ones! And plus next year will be my last year of school, because after that i have sixth-form to worry about, and A levels and whatnot! I won't have any time for anything anymore... i won't be able to just sit there on rainy days, with the rain pattering against my window and me snuggled into bed with hot chocolate and a notebook, just sitting there doodling... i'll be sitting at my table, revising everything, from the digestive system to the future of the earth, giving up all my free time just to be able to remember all the stuff! And that means i'll be spending my summer holidays revising too... i need to know this year's stuff pretty well for next year, so there's no escaping revision. I won't do it all day, just 2 hours each day will be enough, but still. And then i think about if i was going to another country this summer i'd have so much more fun (like India: parents planned to go there and then cancelled at the last minute, which really annoyed me because i HATE summer at home. Plus i've forgotten half of my family there and i need to go see my cousins.)
So yeah, thats pretty much it- my creativity juice is running dry.
Have a nice summer everyone x

Easy sponge cake :D
So recently for my duke of Edinburgh award i've been doing a ton of cooking (about 3 months of it), and this week I decided to bake a cake. I have a pretty simple recipe that i found on the internet once in a blue moon and i'm just going to share it. Here goes..
ingredients:
(if you want to make a small-ish cake)
100g self raising flour
100g butter (it can be salted or unsalted, but personally i prefer salted)
100g caster sugar (or confectioners sugar)
2 eggs
Method
1. preheat oven to 180degrees C gas mark 4
2. cut the butter into little cubes. You need to do this to make sure it mixes well. Mix the butter cubes and the caster sugar together (preferably using a hand mixer) until it becomes soft and fluffy. If it keeps spraying everywhere just be patient and keep squishing the butter.
3. crack the 2 eggs into a bowl and whisk. add this to your sugar and butter mixture and mix thoroughly.
4. sieve the self-raising flour and sieve it. add little amounts of it to the mixture and mix really well.
5. after you've mixed in the flour well, keep mixing for about 5 minutes (usually i turn on the oven at this point) (just to make sure all the ingredients are mixed)
6. bake until golden brown and until fork comes out clean
7. if you want to cover it in icing, mix together icing sugar and water until it makes a thin watery paste, and spread over cake
and thats it :D i find this recipe really easy and you can use it for cupcakes too- just halve all the ingredients. hope you enjoyed

Random thoughts
While I sat in the car last night (we were at a relative's house and were returning home late), I had two incredibly random thought, and since I have nothing else to blog about, I'll blog about my random thoughts.
Black is an entirely lonely colour
it's never occurred to me until now, that black is a really lonely colour. no wonder it's an emo colour
I mean if you live in a city, you won't wear white, right? Because you don't want your clothes to get dirty. You'll wear dark colours, right? Because when you wear black, no one can see that you have different colours on you. And in that sense, I imagine it to be a lonely colour because it doesn't share it's colour with anyone, like no one can see the other colours on black, get what i mean? And it's the same with night- nights are black, and they may be magical and all, but mostly they're scary. It's alright to look up at the night sky from your bedroom window and just stare at the pretty clouds, but in most cities night time is dangerous, it hides what goes on and who knows what goes on in cities! murders, rapes, robberies, the list is endless :O and in that sense, black is a lonely colour again, because no one wants to go out when it's black outside, see what my point is?
Is it just me, or is the moon closer to us than it seems?
okay okay, I know it's a really random thought, but i was sitting in a car, late night, brother asleep, parents talking, looking up at the full yellow moon last night, and i just kept looking and looking, even though it was really bright, suddenly seeing those squarish patterns on the moon. it was hypnotic, i tell you! And while I was staring, i thought is the moon THAT far away? Because it was really big last night, so it looked close. I mean sometimes i look up from my bedroom window and just keep staring at the moon.
anyway, i have nothing more to say, that is all. hope you enjoyed my random thoughts.

Reading some comments, feeling awesome!
Hey readers! I know I don't update as much as I used to but believe me when i say that if i had the choice to update my blog whenever, you would receive a lot more blog posts! I was doing some history revision and then took a break, went to my blog and scrolled through my old posts, saw some comments I had never seen before and I just wanted to let you all know..
That i really value your opinion because you guys are who I write this for, and when i saw those comments which said "this isn't the first of your posts that i've read, i wish i could be as talented as you in writing", it really really made me happy :) the only thing which keeps me writing here is knowing someone reads it, even if they don't anymore, I know one day they'll come back and be like "oh yeah this girl who wrote such random things".. i just know it ;)
so please keep reading and commenting- i will try to see them but if you add me on twitter it'll be so much easier- i'm @Omm_Nom
that is all

Holidays are over, lets begin school
Hello readers! Sorry i haven't updated for such a long time! Anyway, i just wanted to blog about holidays.
Anyway, holidays are special to everyone, from busy, hard-working people to lazy people, everyone needs a holiday. So i've just had my easter holidays, which lasted for two weeks! It was a chance for me to prepare all my test notes for up-coming GCSE's, relax for a bit, make new twitter friends, and even update a few games on my IPod, see some family friends and take get my new camera some practise!
So for the first couple of days, we stayed at home, filling up books with test-notes and doing homeworks, as well as playing games and going on twitter etc. But that only lasted a few days, since my parents had made plans for us all to go see some friends in Wales. I guess you could say it was fun, seeing english countryside and finally getting a chance to get away from home, but since their internet got broken down, it wasn't 100% fun for me. We only stayed there from friday-sunday so there wasn't that much time to do stuff.
And then finally we came home! But it turned out that our relatives were coming the next day, so it wasn't all chuck your stuff anywhere and lie down to relax, but more like clean the house and make the beds because first impressions are important! Anyway, my relatives had two little boys so there wasn't a whole lot for me to do, since my two brothers took care of them.
After the fun 5 days with our relatives, it was the dreaded weekend before school! So if i hadn't done any school work, then this was my last chance to get it done. It also meant that i had to go through my whole wardrobe just to find my summer dress for school, which now comes up to way above my knees.
So then the weekend ended and it was time to start waking up early in the morning just to get all my makeup on and get to school in the horrible rainy weather.
Anyway, that's all from me :) and if you're still on holidays, then enjoy because you'll miss them when they're gone!
